We thought so highly of the original 8x32 Vortex Viper binocular that we rated it a Best Buy in our Bird Watcher's Digest review.

Now it's been improved and updated, with high-definition, extra-low-dispersion glass.

Pleasant-to-hold green rubberized exterior. Waterproof and nitrogen purged. Many birders appreciate the lighter weight and more compact size of the 8x32 for birding.

Vortex has used special low-dispersion glass ("XD glass") and proprietary high-quality coatings ("XR multi-layer coatings" to make a binocular that is very bright, with excellent resolution, fine detailing, and true color.

This binocular is rugged and solidly built, with a serious rubber armoring that will stand up to hard use. The binocular is waterproof, fogproof, and nitrogen purged and sealed.

The eyecups have multi-step positions for personal adjustments and offer comfortable full-field viewing with or without eyeglasses. The eyecups are metal reinforced but padded with soft, contoured rubber for comfort.
