The new Crossfire HD binocular is the least expensive good binocular on the market. It is a fine starter binocular for a new birder. Even for an experienced birder, who owns a more expensive binocular, might like to have a Crossfire on hand to lend to a friend. Much nicer than two people trying to share a single binocular. The Crossfire HD has recently been upgraded and improved by the manufacturer. Its optical design is very similar to the Diamondback, though without the Diamondback's dielectric prism coatings.
