Gitzo's Series 1 Mountaineer tripod, with 3-section carbon eXact legs. Versatile, with a balance of rigidity and reduced weight, this is a popular Mountaineer carbon fiber tripod. It will work even with an 80 or 85mm scope. It weighs 2.9 pounds, and its maximum height is 62.2 inches. Does not include head.

This is a lightweight, standard height tripod, a good choice for the birder on the move. It is lighter weight (and has a shorter maximum height) than the Series 2 Mountaineer.
