Purple Martins started nesting in gourds that Native Americans hung for the birds in their villages.
Today we have spacious, long-lasting gourds of UV-protected Polyethylene. They enable Purple Martins to have larger families, to reduce overcrowding, and to reduce predation by raccoons and owls.
Because of their large ports and screw-on caps, these gourds let the Purple Martin landlord open the gourds easily to check the nests and replace the bedding.
The shipping cost is included in most of these Purple Martin items. You can send back any of these items (in new condition), at your own expense, in the event that you change your mind. However, the actual cost of shipping will be deducted from the refund you receive. The manufacturer also charges a 20% restocking fee, which would also be deducted from any refund.
