SFL stands for SmartFocus and Lightweight.

The new Zeiss SFL 10x50 binocular brings large, light-hungry objective lenses. The Zeiss 10x50 SFL Binoculars combine ease of use with the premium optical quality ZEISS is known for. The SFL line uses slightly smaller objective lenses for a significant weight reduction from competing models, making a day of nature observation or sightseeing much more comfortable.

SmartFocus means your finger falls instinctively on the focus wheel, avoiding any uncomfortable stretching. And the focus wheel is broad enough to use in winter, even with heavy gloves..

FEATURES
The weight is comparable to high-end binoculars with 50mm objective lenses. But the exit exit pupil is larger. This makes it easier to position the SFL in front of your pupils. For some users, the larger exit pupil may also provide more brightness in very dim light.

Perfect positioning of large focus wheel means you don't have to over-stretch your focusing finger. The focus is fast but precise – even with gloves on.

It focuses as close as 5.9 feet, much closer than one expects from a 50mm binocular.

What is SmartFocus?
Look where that focus knob is! It's close to the middle of the length of the binocular. Not up by the eyepieces, like many other binoculars. When you're holding the binocular, the focus knob is already right there, under your index finger. You don't have to reach over to the side to turn the focus knob. As a result, you can effortlessly keep focusing with your index finger, without tension, for as long as you still have something you want to watch and keep in focus.

The knob is fast, so you can quickly go from looking at the soaring hawk to the sparrow on the ground by your feet.

CLOSE FOCUS?
We love how close you can actually focus this binocular. The minimum distance varies from person to person, depending on their eyes, but it's about 4.9 feet. Great for butterfly watching as well as birding!
