Say No-no! to squirrels with this all-metal, no-wood, no-plastic wire mesh feeder. The roof protects birds and feed and helps keep the seed dry. Although squirrels are very smart and persistent, they can't chew through the wire mesh. I would not be so bold as to say that no squirrel has ever defeated one of these, but in ten years using it I've never had a squirrel get one open or damage it. It's designed to appeal to cardinals, with a wide platform for them to perch on comfortably while feeding. We find that it invites many kinds of birds to our yard. It's always mobbed with goldfinches, woodpeckers, titmice, and chickadees. In summer, rose-breasted grosbeaks visit it every day.
