Want an inexpensive long-lasting way to offer suet in upside down, the way starlings, grackles, and jays don't like it? Try this box! It will reserve your suet feeder for the birds you want. The Small Upside Down Suet Feeder requires a bird to hang to the underside of the feeder. Woodpeckers, chickadees, titmice, and nuthatches are perfectly comfortable feeding that way. But not starlings or house sparrows. And although a squirrel might wrap itself around the feeder and pick out a bit of suet, the furry critter can't just make off with the whole cake as it can with many feeders. It's easy to fill, too. Just slide the lid up the bail and pop in a new suet cake. You don't have to get your hands dirty. Made of recycled plastic — you're helping the environment when you use this suet feeder! Easy to clean and disinfect. Dimensions: 7.5 x 7.25 x 3 inches Learn More

  3. No/No Cardinal Feeder ~ Says "No-No" to squirrels ~ "Yes" to birds

    Regular Price: $44.95

    Special Price $39.95

Say No-no! to squirrels with this all-metal, no-wood, no-plastic wire mesh feeder. The roof protects birds and feed and helps keep the seed dry. Although squirrels are very smart and persistent, they can't chew through the wire mesh. I would not be so bold as to say that no squirrel has ever defeated one of these, but in ten years using it I've never had a squirrel get one open or damage it. It's designed to appeal to cardinals, with a wide platform for them to perch on comfortably while feeding. We find that it invites many kinds of birds to our yard. One nice feature is that rain drips right on through, so you don't get a soggy buildup of wet seeds. The first photo shows a male Northern Cardinal and an American Goldfinch at the No/No feeder. Click the second small image to see a Red-headed Woodpecker and a Red-bellied Woodpecker breakfasting at this feeder at the same time. The third small image is a female Northern Cardinal enjoying the feeder. Learn More

  5. Mealworms Alive — 2000

    $38.95
Get 2000 live and juicy mealworms to make your bluebirds and other wild birds feel right at home in your back yard. We have found that mealworms are the way to the heart of a bluebird. When the bluebirds start showing an interest in the birdhouse, we put a few mealworms on top. Within a day, they are taking the offer. It seems to help clinch the real estate deal. Sort of helps them decide the birdhouse is a good place to move in to. After the eggs hatch, the bluebirds really love the nutritious mealworms to feed to their young. Sometimes they have even come to our hands to accept the mealworms, which they then deliver to the birdhouse. Other species appreciate mealworms, also. Species that have accepted mealworms from us include Black-capped Chickadees, American Robins, House Wrens, Eastern Phoebes, Purple Martins, and once a Gray Catbird. It's nice to have enough mealworms on hand to let the robins and other birds have some too. Price includes shipping. Mealworms are shipped Monday through Thursday, weather allowing for living things, and are guaranteed to arrive alive. Sorry, we cannot ship mealworms out of the US. Learn More
