Head not included. We recommend that this tripod be paired with the the Gitzo Counterbalance head G2180, which is extremely strong, but tiny, weighing only about a pound. It is ideal for use with a spotting scope, when you need to pan and tilt freely in any direction but have the scope remain stationary when you're looking through it.

This versatility in height is thanks to the 4-section legs and the way the legs fold 180 degree. When the tripod is folded, the center column is enclosed by the legs. (But if you have a head attached, the head will not be enclosed by the folded legs.) This Traveler can come in very handy for air travel or when a short stowing length is a consideration.
