There are lots of things to recommend this new 8x21 binocular. It's got suprisingly good optics for the low price. It focuses as close as 8 feet, which is unusually good for an inexpensive binocular.

It's tiny and weighs only 6 ounces, but it does the job. It's perfect for kids (as well as adults to don't want to lug around heavy binoculars). Three family members can each have his or her own color. Choose yellow ("Sun"), blue ("Moon"), silver ("Star"), or green ("Ocean") from the color menu below.

Roof prisms allow streamlined shape. Nice for a daytime hike, a football game, or the theater. The Energy has multi-coated lenses for bright views.

Double-hinged design lets the binocular fold easily to fit in a pocket. This also means you can bring the eyepieces closer together than most binoculars will allow. So it works for children and for people with close-set eyes.

A word of caution... for people who wear glasses, this binocular has only 8mm eye relief. If you wear glasses while using the binocular, you'll see the center of the field of view but you may not be able to see the full field of view.
